Ellen Bødtker is an innovative artist with a broad repertoire, spanning from Mozart and Ravel to contemporary and crossover music. Ellen has performed in most concert halls, stages and festivals in Norway, and visited many parts of the world with her harp. She is a harpist with distinctive features and is one of Scandinavias leading harp soloists. She is recognized for her strong commitment to contemporary music, and collaborates with several of the foremost nordic composers. She plays with the Norwegian ensemble Oslo Sinfonietta.www.oslosinfonietta.com. She has toured with The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, performing at several prestigious festivals around the world.

Ellen has appeared as soloist with orchestras such as Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, The Norwegian Chamber Music Orchestra,St Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, The Nordia-Ensemble of Sweden, The Norwegian Wind Ensemble in Kristiansand, and The Wind Ensemble in Harstad.

As a soloist she has performed in Italy, Canada, USA, England, Russia,Japan and Germany.
Ellen has, at several occasions, appeared on TV and radio. Also hosting her own TV-shows featuring Spanish and French music for harp.She performed at Japanese TV NHK WORLD WAVE MORNING and at Norwegian TV NRK with The Edvard Munch performance LIFEBLOOD, which she founded in the Munch anniversary 2013.

“FRENCH MUSIC FOR HARP AND STRINGS” marks her Solo debut on the label Naxos international. The album has received excellent reviews in Norway and internationally. The album also features The Vertavo Quartet.
“VILLVENG”, released in 2003, is her sophomore recording with Norwegian music, featuring both her own compositions and works by other composers. The album features several acclaimed artists, including Lars Lillo- Stenberg and trumpetist Arve Henriksen.
SONaR, released in 2009, comprises Norwegian music written especially for her by composer Magnar Åm.

Ellen has recorded several albums with the Norwegian boys choir ” SØLVGUTTENE”, whereas “JULEMESSE” from 2007 received outstanding reviews from the Norwegian press.
“PACEM” from 2012 contents a new piece by Bjørn Kruse written for her and Sølvguttene with texts by Lars Saabye Christensen.

She also collaborates with several well known singers as Eir Inderhaug, Linda Øvrebø and Njål Sparbo.

In 2009 she performed as soloist with the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonics at The Nordic music festival in St. Petersburg. This was the world premiere  of Karsten Fundals “The Shore” and Maja Ratkjes “Mood IV” written for her.
